Casado con Dorothy Bridges desde 1938 hasta su fallecimiento, fue padre de los actores
Jeff Bridges y
Beau Bridges, también de Cindy Bridges y Garrett Myles Bridges. Fue abuelo el de Jordan Bridges.
Lloyd Bridges falleció el 10 de marzo de 1998 en
